Performance Exhaust Systems
Performance systems not only sound great but they also add power to your car, especially when extractors are installed. However, if a system is too big then it can actually drain power from your car and cause damage to your engine. To find out how to optimise your exhaust system for maximum power and sound contact your nearest Profix Service Centre.
Benefits of fitting a Profix Performance Exhaust System:
- Increased Horsepower over the rev range, easier to tow, climb hills and overtake
- Increased Fuel Economy - save you money
- Engine Runs Cleaner & More Efficiently - freer flowing exhaust gases & reduced back pressure
- Engine Runs Cooler - freer flowing heat from exhaust gases
- Looks Better - chrome and stainless steel tips add style
- Sounds Better - from mild sounding sports systems to race car grunt
- Increased Low Range Torque in 4WD vehicles - due to reduced back pressure
Below are photos of some of the systems put together by Profix workshops. These will give you some idea of what is possible.
If you are thinking about a performance exhaust system for your car the first step is to talk to your nearest Profix workshop.
They can advise you on:
- What is possible - ie will it fit.
- What will work and what won't work.
- The variables in the design of your exhaust system that you need to consider - budget, single or twin, size of tubing, type of muffler, use of cannons and resonators and so on.
